About St Aidan’s Day Nursery

Founded in 2009, St Aidan’s Day Nursery is proudly located in the historic St Aidan’s Church hall, a cherished part of our community’s heritage.

At St Aidan’s, we are dedicated to nurturing curiosity, kindness, and joy in every child. Our warm, inviting environment is thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity and wonder, supporting young minds as they grow through play, exploration, and discovery. Here, your child will find a safe, joyful space to build friendships, develop new skills, and truly feel at home.

We aspire to revive that sense of community within St Aidan’s by offering childcare services geared at the family rather than just the child. We care for children from birth to 5 years, with places available for up to 94 children. Our passionate practitioners take pride in meeting the highest standards set for children’s day care and are members of the National Day Nursery Association. The diverse needs of our children are met by a highly committed and professional team, whom have both the experience and theoretical knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The EYFS comprises of seven areas, the first three are prime areas. The seven areas of the EYFS are:

  • Communication & Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts & Design

Every child is an individual

Plans are based on individual children’s interests, needs and stage of development, identified by qualified professionals through observations, and through working closely with parents and each other.

Our daily activities and routines make full use of both our indoor and outdoor facilities which includes an all weather outdoor play area and vegetable plot.

Our menus are planned so we ensure the children are provided with a varied and balanced diet, using seasonal fresh produce.

Our Aims

During your child’s time with us we will nurture an atmosphere of respect, acceptance and tolerance. We focus greatly on self-care, self-esteem and autonomy. We encourage each child to reach their full potential, so they can feel proud of their achievements and confident in their abilities.

We encourage and support parental involvement within our nursery believing that close links between home and nursery provides continuity of care and a feeling of security for your child.

All parents want the best for their children and we aspire to create the best possible environment for your child away from home.
